In 1953 Sam Ross, the grandfather of the current Managing Director, David Goodrich founded Goodyear & Uhlmann (1953) Ltd and started distributing products under the "Goodwear" label. Way back then the business operated from premises in Fouberts Place, just off London's famous Carnaby Street. In the 1980's, Goodwear Holdings Ltd, as it was known by then moved to Finsbury Park, North London from where it operated for over twenty years. In 2005 GW Products Ltd (another name change but still Goodwear) moved out of London altogether and relocated to Welwyn Garden City about twenty five miles north of London.

During those years despite changes we still have many connections to the past.  Bob Hearn has been with us for over twenty two years. Peter Jackson has been with the company nearly ten years. David Goodrich has been with the company since he was 18 years old, nearly thirty four years! That link with the past provides a depth of knowledge and experience that we bring to our dealings with customers.

In 1953 our main product was buttons. Over the years we have added many new items, tiebacks, trimmings, beads of all description and craft items to name but a few.
